I am a writer, reporter and photographer currently based in Denver, Colorado, my hometown.

As a climate change and business reporter with POLITICO's E&E News, I cover the global financial system and how it is both fueling and fighting rising temperatures. I moved to Colorado from Washington, D.C. in 2022 in an aim to spend more time reporting on how climate-related financial risk is already unfolding on the ground — particularly in communities across the West.

My favorite stories are those that regard a sense of community, how people in particular places respond uniquely to issues that are global in scope. One example: a story about the network of community-owned lenders in Puerto Rico that provided a financial lifeline to millions of people amid Hurricane Maria, and today are helping drive the island’s uniquely urgent energy transition.

Before E&E, I reported for news organizations including NPR, Bloomberg Government and Wambra Radio – a grassroots journalism collective in Quito, Ecuador. I have a bachelor's degree in Spanish and Intercultural Communication from St. Olaf College, where I was the editor-in-chief of the college newspaper.
